The lotus flower grows in murky water but blooms unstained at dawn. In Hawaiian culture, wearing it behind the left ear means married or unavailable, while on the right side means single and possibly seeking love. It’s seen as a symbol of perfect beauty in Asian countries and grows in various regions worldwide. Lotus represents status, strength, purity, resilience, love, and rebirth. Like the flower, we must honor our background to become our most beautiful self.

Description
Lotus flower grows in a murky/muddy water and blooms without stain at the break of the day. In the Hawaiian culture, if you are to wear a flower behind your left ear you are married or unavailable while on the right side signifies the opposite, that the person in question is single and possible looking for love. The lotus flower in the Asian countries are seen as perfect beauty but somewhat more than that. Lotus flower can also be found in areas like India, Sri Lanka through northern Indochina and East Asia. It also grows in isolated locations throughout the Caspian Sea as well as virtually all throughout New Guinea and island Southeast Asia as well as northern and eastern Australia. Lotus and lily are both pond blooming plants that emerge from rhizomes and share a rich color palette, but they are some easy ways to tell them apart. Lotus flower represent status, strength, purity, resilience, love and rebirth. The water it grows in interprets as imperfections, attachments or earthly desires. Likened to be human, we all struggle to stay/stand strong above our worries and fears, to feel what it takes to be loved, try to withstand and adjust to face life challenges (resilience), just as a lotus stands in beauty above muddy waters. Like the lotus flower, we must honor the darkest parts of ourselves and the most painful of our life’s experiences (our background), because they are what allow us to birth our most beautiful self (where and what we aim to be).
